        Valvoline® Premium Conventional Motor Oil

Specially formulated for the full life of the engine, Valvoline's unique multi-viscosity formula helps to:

        • Keep the engine clean by minimizing deposit formation
        • Reduce oil consumption by fighting volatility and oil evaporation
        • Resist oil thickening by providing enhanced oxidation control
        • Improve gas mileage in the lower viscosity grades (5W20, 5W30 and 10W30) by reducing friction
        • Provide thorough anti-wear protection exceeding current U.S., Japanese and European wear tests for gasoline and gasoline turbo-charged engines where each grade is specified
        • Valvoline's line of multi-viscosity oils include the following grades: 5W20, 5W30, 10W30, 10W40, 15W40 and 20W50

        Overview

Valvoline offers a full line of premium conventional motor oils that are specially formulated for the full life of the engine. Valvoline's conventional motor oil product line comes in both multi-viscosity and mono-grade formulations. Multi-viscosity grades provide protection in all climates while mono-grade oils are formulated for warmer conditions. All Valvoline oils are formulated with advanced additive technology and premium base oils for high performance and an enhanced engine life.

        How To Use

        To change your motor oil:

        1. Jack your car up or use drive-on ramps.
        2. Pop the hood. Remove the oil fill cap and dipstick, then use the oil filter wrench to loosen the oil filter housing 4-5 complete turns to allow the air to get in so the oil can drain out. Temporarily put the oil pan under the filter to capture any spillage. Place the oil drain pan directly under the drain plug on the engine.
        3. Drain the oil. Using a socket wrench or a combination wrench of the right size, loosen the oil drain plug on the engine and remove it completely. Let the oil drain completely from the engine.
        4. Save the used oil. Collect it in a clean container and take it to a recycling center. To find a recycling drop off point, check with your local auto parts retailer or your municipal recycling center.
        5. Tighten the drain plug. Replace the drain plug on the engine oil pan then tighten it.
        6. Remove the oil filter. Place the drain pan directly under the oil filter. The filter should be removable by hand. If not, use your filter wrench and rotate the filter counter-clockwise to remove it.
        7. Rub the gasket. Before attaching the new filter, rub motor oil on the rubber gasket on the base. If you don't do this, it will be hard to get the filter off the engine the next time. Make sure the gasket from the old filter came off and is not still stuck on the housing.
        8. Screw on the new filter. Screw the new filter onto the filter pipe all the way down to the base (using hands only) until it is tight. Use the filter wrench and turn the filter one- quarter turn more to seal it.
        9. Fill with motor oil. Find the engine oil fill on the valve cover and fill with the amount and kind of new engine oil specified in your owner's manual, usually 4-5 quarts. Cap the oil fill hole.
        10. Lower the car, then start it. Start the engine but do not rev it – just let it idle. Let the car run for about five minutes to warm up the engine and allow the oil to circulate. Check under the vehicle and make sure the filter is not leaking oil onto the pavement. Shut the engine off. Check the dipstick on the engine to make certain it reads "FULL."

I own a 1989 Toyota Camry that now has more than 255,000 miles on the original engine with no internal work! I have used Valvoline 10w-30wt since it was new and it still doesn't use oil. I plan on taking this car to 300,000 without any problems. Way to go Valvoline. If this oil can take a 4 cylinder engine through this many miles it must be good!
        -John Andrew, OREGON

Dear Valvoline, I have a 5.0 Mustang that I have put together myself, and have religiously run your 5w30. A year ago when the engine was two years old, and run very hard (6,500 rpm), I broke it. It was my own fault. I was running it very hard, and an intake valve broke. So my new mission was to see what parts I could salvage. I completely disassembled the engine and was shocked as to how clean everything was. I expected some varnish and sludge, but there was none. Even though I broke the block and some other upper end components, the bottom end of this 302 looked great and was reusable. I was surprised how clean Valvoline detergents really keep an engine. I mean, it looked like a fresh crate engine with new oil that was never run, then drained, and disassembled. My friend who runs Limited Late Model Circle Track cars turned me on to Valvoline and now I am a believer. I rebuilt the new world products headed 1969 306 cid Ford v-8, and it runs even faster, and the oil pressure gauge goes so high warm at idle it pegs out. Valvoline, Run it!
        -Troy Starks

I had a blown head gasket on my 350 engine at 219000+ miles. My mechanic took down the engine and the inside was as clean as the new GMC crate engine I replaced it with. Clean as new with nearly 1/4 million miles. I changed oil every 3000 miles and used the truck in my business hauling chemicals for the dairies and doing service work. I wish everything worked as good as the Valvoline 10W-30.
        -Carroll Lusk, SOUTH CAROLINA
