What I Don't Want to Hear

2/23/2009

To repeat what I said last time, when it comes to Motorsports 2009, we're all in it together. I want us to enjoy racing for what it is we love most - the racing!

So, especially in these troubled times, here are 20 things I DON'T want to hear or read about this season:

20. The Car of Tomorrow doesn't drive well.

19. The new jet or motorcoach some NASCAR driver just bought.

18. Some American Idol loser singing the National Anthem before a Cup race.

17. Toyota success is bad for NASCAR.

16. Robin Miller's blunt commentary is bad for the IRL.

15. Scott Dixon turned down another media request.

14. Kyle Busch complaining.

13. Angelle Sampey doesn't have a ride.

12. Ditto Hot Rod Fuller.

11. How much the drivers love the hot dogs at Martinsville.

10. Jimmie Johnson is boring.

9. Retired drivers unretiring.

8. How demanding a driver's schedule is because of sponsor and fan obligations.

7. An injured driver competed without medical insurance.

6. Jeff Gordon is having another bad season.

5. Being an owner-driver is stressing Tony Stewart.

4. Bernie Ecclestone canceled some country's Grand Prix because they didn't pay enough.

3. Tire troubles ruined a race.

2. Another Danica tantrum.

1. Dale Jr. might never win a Cup championship.
