Kenseth's 3rd-Place Finish Leads Team Valvoline in Dover

DOVER, Del (Sept. 27, 2009) -- Matt Kenseth's third-place result led Team Valvoline's five top-13 finishes in Sunday's AAA 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Dover International Speedway.

Scoring the next-best finish for Team Valvoline at Dover's Monster Mile was AJ Allmendinger, who posted a seventh-place result. Other top Valvoline finishers were: Kasey Kahne eighth, Carl Edwards 11th and Greg Biffle 13th.

"It ended up being really good," said Kenseth in post-race interviews. "We didn't qualify very good, but we were really happy with our car. When the race started, I didn't think we were quite as good as we were yesterday (in practice), but we were able to have really good pit stops."

Biffle leads the three Valvoline Chase drivers in the point standings. He is ninth among the 12 Chase drivers while Edwards is 11th and Kahne 12th.

The Dover race winner was Jimmie Johnson. Rounding out the top-five in order were: Mark Martin, Kenseth, Juan Pablo Montoya and Kurt Busch.
